Media relations

Our contacts in the media locally, regionally and nationally are unrivalled. We understand what it takes to engage and excite their readers, viewers and listeners.

Our connections with the media are extensive thanks, in part, to the fact that Neil White has held senior industry positions across the Midlands over the past 35 years.

He was editor of the Derby Telegraph and, previously, assistant editor at the Nottingham Post and still has many contacts at both organisations as well its sister titles in Trinity Mirror, the biggest media group in the UK.

He was on the board of the National Council for the Training of Journalists and personally trained hundreds of reporters over the years, many of whom have high-profile media jobs with national newspapers and broadcasters.

During the past 12 years, he and David Leatt have become well-known figures in Derby, both in supporting businesses and leading campaigns. They have many contacts in the area’s networking and media groups that publish daily e-shots.

In recent years, both have worked with upcoming digital companies which specialise in the business arena.

Together as Black & White PR, they offer a potent mix of creativity and knowledge which the media craves and which is, therefore, invaluable to their clients.

They will:

  • Understand the audience for each platform
  • Have the relevant contacts
  • Place content with journalists
  • Follow-up to prompt publication
  • Keep track of all material
  • Maintain a record of each client’s media interaction
